Willingboro Plaza 1968

Here's a postcard from one of my boyhood haunts, the Willingboro Plaza in Willingboro, New Jersey. I bought my first 45 rpm record at the Record Shack, Ted Nugent & the Amboy Dukes "Journey To The Center Of The Mind". The plaza went downhill, but recently was redeveloped as the Willingboro Town Center.

wow! That does take me back! I remember the bowling alley downstairs and the musty basement shoe smell. Pomeroys was my first job at 16. I'd walk from millbrook to wash the dishes in the little restaurant with all the waitresses being little old ladies with red hair. We slept out in from of ticketron for led zepplin tickets and then that morning they came out and told us the concert was canceled. Ahhhhhhhh. We hung out at riccardos which we all eventually worked at, remember Sal?

Thanks for that great blast from the past. I remember the record shack too, as well as going Christmas shopping in Pomeroys and Sears and the musty smelling bowling alley mentioned by Lynn. That was all a long time ago.
